Cricket fans enter ground to click selfie with Kohli, chased away by police

What appears like a minor security breach, three fans of Indian cricketer Virat Kohli were seen entering the playing area towards the end of the second day of the series of second Tests between India and Sri Lanka. The fans were seen clicking a selfie with Virat Kohli before they were whisked away by the security personnel inside the field.

The incident occurred during the sixth over of the Sri Lankan second innings when Kusal Mendis was receiving treatment after he was hit by a Mohammed Shami delivery.

While the men got busy with medication, the three fans sensing an opportunity to see their favourite star from up close, somehow managed to run inside the fenced area towards the players. One of them was seen getting close to Kohli, who stood in the slip area. As seen in the Twitter post by @sanchitd43, the fan took his mobile out quickly and asked the senior batter for a selfie, and Kohli delightfully obliged.

It can be seen that the security personnel rushed towards the players and gained control of the fans.
