International Kabaddi player, Sandeep Nangal shot dead in Jalandhar


International Kabbadi player Sandeep Nangal reported to have been shot dead by unidentified assailants in a Malian village in Jalandhar during a Kabaddi Cup.

Jalandhar (Rural) Deputy Superintendent of Police (Nakodar) Lakhwinder Singh has confirmed that eight to ten bullets were shot at the Sandeep. Further investions are ongoing.

The video of the highly unfortunateincident has been circulating on social media where one can see a series of bullets being fired from a distance as spectators at the tournament flee from the spot out of shock and fear.

Sandeep had ruled the Kabaddi world for over a decade, playing extremely well in Canada, the UK, the USA, other than in Punjab. An Indian Kabbadi participant, he was fondly called the Diamond participant on account of his athletic talents and expertise at the bottom.

At the time of death, he was managing a kabaddi federation. As per some of his followers, a tussle between different golf equipment and the federation had resulted in the incident.
