Pakistan PM Imran Khan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf party receives major blow as the key ally and the main coalition partner Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM) side with the opposition Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

To make the no-confidence motion against PM Imran Khan successful, Pakistan’s joint opposition requires the support of 172 MNAs. The Pakistani National Assembly’s total strength is 342, and the majority is 172. The PTI-led coalition formed with the support of 179 members, but after MQM-P left to align with PPP, Imran Khan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf is standing with 164 members in support while the Opposition has 177 members of supporters in the national assembly.
