On Wednesday the world’s number one tennis player Ashleigh Barty stunned everyone by announcing her retirement from the sport at the age of 25. Weeks after becoming Australia’s homegrown tennis player who has won the Australian Open for the first time 44 years her announcement of retirement has come up as a shock for the whole world.
She had joined the Tennis royalty’s most exclusive club with a total of three grand slams. After staying at the top for more than two years and winning Wimbledon in 2021, French Open in 2019 and the Australian Open this year she announced her retirement. The Women’s Tennis Association has tweeted thanking her for her contribution in the sports.
She has been one of the most respected and loved players in the tennis world and Barty quickie became the best player by flexing her pinpoint servings, array of slices, seamless forehands entertaining the tennis world with an all round game.
